Ioannes Henricus MeibomiusJohann Heinrich Meibom – Per WP:ENGLISH WP:COMMONNAME.

Here, English not being "Anglicized": the guy was German and most modern English works (including the entire text of our article) are going to use the German form of his name, even if he mostly wrote in Latin himself.  — LlywelynII 03:12, 1 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • Oppose the article is mostly unreferenced. If he wrote mostly in Latin, then his Latin name would be widely used. Unless we have more references in English to show that his name shows up one way or another, I don't see a reason to change it at this time, per your own statement about being published mostly in Latin. -- 65.94.171.225 (talk) 03:53, 1 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I've made a non-admin closure here. This page was moved in January, without any discussion, from "Heinrich Meibom (doctor) ", with the explanation "To avoid confusion". As we don't have any other articles on doctors named Meibom, I'm at a loss to see where the confusion lay. Perhaps it would make more sense simply to revert that move, so I have done just that. If anyone feels the original title isn't good enough, I would suggest we take it back to WP:RM and have another go at it, but I am hoping this will resolve the issue.
