According to many websites out there the designation He 113 refers to the aircraft later designated He 100 due to Heinkel's superstition about the use of the number 13

Is there enough in the Heinkel He 113 article to stand on its own? It may make more sense to include it into the Heinkel He 100 article. FWiW Bzuk (talk) 22:40, 17 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, He 113 was the original designation for the Heinkel He 100. Its designer requested a new RLM designation because the He 100 was intended to break the absolute speed record.
