Must have been mix-up with the entire Halle garrison. And even if this was meant, seems somewhat overstated. 9.000 in a single installation/caserne (former Wehrmacht HLNS) ? thinking over, for sometime 9,000 present at entire Halle Garrison might have been a trustworthy number. But never for a single installation. There were more than 5 different at place, depending on space of environment around this city taken into consideration.
