If it's from black's point of view, shouldn't it be the other way around, with black pieces at the bottom? With no objection, I'll flip it (if I can figure out how). Llamabr (talk) 20:30, 15 April 2008 (UTC)

Traditionally White is always at the bottom and Black at the top of a chess diagram. Sometimes the diagrams are given the other way, but that's unusual. It would be very confusing to flip the board in a chess endgame since it often isn't clear where the players' home rows are late in the game, but for most openings including this one it wouldn't cause much harm. This article contained some British English, many openings articles are written in British English. Specifically "manoeuvre" vs "maneuver" (American English). (Someone changed to American; don't know if that's appropriate or not.) Ihardlythinkso (talk) 05:12, 1 August 2011 (UTC)

Generally it isn't OK to change the national variety of English in an article. See WP:ENGVAR for the details. The earliest version I found of this article was in British English, so that's probably what should be used. Quale (talk) 01:33, 2 August 2011 (UTC)
