Really, I think the name of this article should be changed to "Hedda", and the passage "Headdi (or Headda or Eatheadus of Sidnacester)" ought to be changed to reflect it. The form "Hædda" should be added, too. The ending in "-i" is due to a Latin inflection, against the authentic Old English ending "-a". Also, mention should be made of an obvious likelihood that he was Sexwulf's successor in the abbacy of Medeshamstede, as well as in the Mercian episcopacy (see for example Stenton, F.M., 'Medeshamstede and its Colonies', in Stenton, D.M. (ed.), Preparatory to Anglo-Saxon England Being the Collected Papers of Frank Merry Stenton, Oxford University Press, 1970). While I'm here, "Eatheadus of Sidnacester" needs a citation: I for one would love to know more about this, e.g. the connection with Sidnacester, and if the modern location of this place is known!
