Fleet Section
[edit]In an effort to make Wikipedia more consistent, I edited the Fleet section of Hawaiian Airlines to meet the guidelines of Wikiproject Airlines. This layout is the preffered layout and is easier to read in most cases. It is smaller and more compact. Before making such drastic changes, you should ALWAYS reach a consensus with other editors.--Golich17 (talk) 02:37, 18 June 2008 (UTC)
Korean
[edit]Someone needs to write a Korean page.
When that is done, use http://www.hawaiianairlines.co.kr/ContactUs.aspx to cite the HQ WhisperToMe (talk) 05:13, 8 September 2010 (UTC)
- Here's the source to cite the HQ address on their main site: http://www.hawaiianair.com/Aboutus/Pages/CorporateContact.aspx -- Hawaiian717 (talk) 05:53, 8 September 2010 (UTC)
- Yep, that one is great to use as the HQ source for any English pages. WhisperToMe (talk) 07:23, 8 September 2010 (UTC)
Source
[edit]Hawaiian has never had a fatal accident in its entire history and is the oldest US carrier with such a distinction
— At the foreword
Would you please add the source of this? Above-cited foreword need to the Source by WP:SOURCE. Thank you. --Idh0854 (talk) 10:42, 7 March 2011 (UTC)
- I've added a source for that line. Quote from the airline's own history page:
In 1990 the international travel and hospitality publication Condé Nast Traveler rated Hawaiian Airlines one of the world's safest airlines. In an exclusive 20 year study (August 1990 issue), Condé Nast noted that Hawaiian was one of only five U.S. carriers, along with four with relatively short histories, that had never had an air fatality in their entire histories. Eighteen years later, Hawaiian's record of safety continues unbroken.

Flag carrier
[edit]By following the link it quickly becomes obvious that Hawaiian does not meet the requirement to be a flag carrier as defined by Wikipedia. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.254.71.142 (talk) 03:56, 13 February 2013 (UTC)
2nd Intro paragraph rewrite needed
[edit]The introduction to this article, specifically the second paragraph needs some serious editing to make it a neutral piece. Right now the whole thing reads like an advertisement for the company. By the way I only happened to be linked to this page from an advertisement they posted on reddit masquerading as an average post, so manipulating wikipedia as well seems like something that might happen too. The 2nd intro paragraph is one positive spin after another, and like the reddit post, isn't particularly subtle. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.126.110.72 (talk) 06:27, 25 September 2015 (UTC)
Kahului hub link
[edit]The link given as a citation for the Kahului hub is a San Jose Mercury article on Delta in San Jose, and makes no mention of either Hawaiian Airlines or Kahului Airport.Avman89 (talk) 18:52, 23 October 2017 (UTC)
- Thank you for pointing that out. I initially replaced the bad source with a "citation needed" template but then found a suitable source in one of Hawaiian's old press releases (see [1]), so I updated the source accordingly. 青い(Aoi) (talk) 04:32, 25 October 2017 (UTC)

Delta and Korean codeshares
[edit]Is there a source for the information that the codeshares with Delta and Korean Airlines are ending? I can't find anything to substantiate this. Mirza Ahmed (talk) 00:29, 17 January 2018 (UTC)
ATR-42s operated by Empire Airlines
[edit]Should they not be included in the fleet table? They are owned by Hawaiian, and used exclusively for Hawaiian-branded flights. The fact that they are operated by Empire Airlines shouldn't matter. For comparison, Alaska Airlines-owned E175s flown by SkyWest are included in the fleet table on Alaska's page. Mirza Ahmed (talk) 11:46, 14 July 2018 (UTC)
Interline agreement
[edit]Can it still be said that Hawaiian has an interline agreement with South African even if the two don’t have anything close to common destinations at this point?71.166.42.116 (talk) 04:37, 7 July 2022 (UTC)
Alaska Air Group acquisition
[edit]As exciting as this prospective deal may be to some people, it has not officially gone through, so please refrain from using the crystal ball to include aspects from the deal in the infobox. Virtually every acquisition/merger has this mistake made and Hawaiian Airlines is no exception. BOTTO (T•C) 18:11, 4 December 2023 (UTC)
- It seems like we're still struggling with this. To the contributors to this info - @RickyCourtney, Lucthedog2, 66.8.192.6, Jogosoccer, Brotherchristmas, TarkusAB, Amtraknortheast1, CheckeredYeti, MSG17, AnDeargMor, Lajurgen, SounderBruce, and 98.226.248.42: 98.227.14.7 (talk · contribs · WHOIS) - look, whenever there's an announced transaction like this, people jump the gun and add the content to the infobox, usually with "(pending)" and it's always taken down, per WP:CRYSTAL. The articles pertaining to this subject matter already has comprehensive text covering the topic, so we should let it be until the deal moves forward. There are still a thousand hurdles for these companies to clear first. BOTTO (T•C) 14:54, 5 December 2023 (UTC)

This section strongly implies that Alaska Air Group will operate Hawaiian as a separate entity. The statements from both airlines talk about a combined airline using multiple brands but with a single head office in Seattle and merged labor pools. Perhaps this should be clarified. Name Omitted (talk) 05:53, 8 December 2023 (UTC)
- @Name Omitted: It certainly should be clarified. I've poured over the sources and I still cannot decipher whether Alaska will operate two separate airlines permanently or merge them shortly after, like what happened with Virgin America. Maybe it's best if we just leave it be until further clarification is provided by Alaska. BOTTO (T•C) 14:07, 19 December 2023 (UTC)
