Has anybody confirmed that Karman is still alive?

[edit]

I've been searching for about ten years now for word of where he is and what he's been doing. ChristinaDunigan 21:43, 8 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

There are categories Category:Possibly living people and Category:Year of death missing, but discussions on the talk pages of both suggest that people shouldn't be sorted into them unless there is very little chance they would still be alive — i.e., they would be older than 105 years. Do you have Karman's year of birth, or evidence to suggest his age at a given time, from which we could extrapolate a year of birth, and thus his current age? As an example, a news article dated February 13, 1955, which stated, "Harvey Karman, 30, of San Francisco was arrested Thursday." From that article we could extrapolate that Karman was born around 1925, and would be about 81 or 82 now. At that age the probability that he would still be alive would be pretty good. So, unless we have conclusive proof of his YOB (or of his death), I'd say it'd be better to sort him into Category:Disappeared people. -Severa (!!!) 08:52, 13 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

That's a good idea. Thanks! Now all I need is somebody besides me who has been trying to locate him. ChristinaDunigan 15:26, 21 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Mothers' Day

[edit]

The reference to "Mothers' Day of 1972" is far too ambiguous. According to the article Mother's Day, the date of the year on which Mother's Day is celebrated varies throughout the world, and, the precise date on which it is celebrated in the U.S. also varies yearly, as it observed on the second Sunday of May. This means that the "Mothers' Day of 1972" reference will be unclear to international readers as well as readers who don't have access to a 1972 calendar. Using a Weekday Calculator, I determined the second Sunday in May 1972 was on the 8th, so I've changed the article for clarity. -Severa (!!!) 09:12, 13 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I thought the irony was particularly apt, but sure. ChristinaDunigan 15:23, 21 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
