Landscape Architecture Degrees
[edit]I am trying to understand how listing that the Harvard Graduate School of Design has a post-professional Master in Landscape Architecture II (MLA II) degree program is an unnecessary detail when the Master of Architecture II (MArch II) degree program is listed; and it is listed as a post-professional degree. They are similar in that both require that applicants have a previous professional degree in architecture or landscape architecture, and are therefore post-professional degrees. The MLA II program is not the same as the MLA I program. MLA II is a two year program, while MLA I is a three year program. And these MLA programs are "Master in", not "Master of"
Additionally, the Master of Architecture in Urban Design (MAUD) program is listed as a post-professional degree, but my edit to also list the Master of Landscape Architecture in Urban Design (MLAUD) program as post-professional was deleted. Again, both require a previous professional degree in architecture or landscape architecture. This is clearly indicated on the MAUD/MLAUD webpage.
I incorrectly thought that the Master of Architecture program was still titled Master in Architecture. It seems that the name was changed this year. So, thank you for correcting that. But it seems like demonstrating the differences between the architecture programs is being favored, and the landscape architecture programs are not getting the same attention. 2601:546:C100:1480:919C:8818:8166:739B (talk) 21:19, 2 April 2023 (UTC)
- My objection is to a detailed listing of every degree program at this college. If there are errors in the article or entire degrees (not degree programs) that are missing, please edit the article to correct it! ElKevbo (talk) 03:51, 3 April 2023 (UTC)
- Sure. But if your reasoning for deleting MLA II is that it is the same degree program as MLA I, which it is not, then MArch I and MArch II should not both be listed. Every degree program is not listed. I would agree that the advanced placement programs don't need to be listed since those seem to just allow students to skip the first year of a program. Additionally, listing the different design studies programs is probably not needed either. Maybe a solution is to delete MArch II since the Master of Architecture article that is linked in that section mentions the difference between MArch I and MArch II. 2601:546:C100:1480:B8FA:F6AD:28E8:B87A (talk) 06:57, 3 April 2023 (UTC)
Please weigh in pro or con on notability. I see many mentions of the magazine in reliable sources but nothing in-depth. Maybe someone here has something. One alternative suggested has been to merge that article into a new section in this article. --A. B. (talk • contribs • global count) 17:03, 11 July 2023 (UTC)
