[edit]Removed reference to piles which although may be correct is hardly significant or worth including.Kunchan (talk) 12:00, 15 December 2009 (UTC)
- Removed reference to Martin Smith, former national secretary of the British Socialist Workers Party. Not only is this material WP:UNDUE, but it fails Wikipedia:Notability. I can find no evidence this has been covered by reliable sources, aka the 'bourgeois media', or even the SWP's publications. The SWP is a small fringe party which has gained some attention on the web recently for reasons which need not be gone into here. Philip Cross (talk) 22:24, 29 January 2013 (UTC)

Pre-decimal money
[edit]'He earned 2 shillings 2½ pence a day'. Does this mean 2s. 2½d. (two shillings and twopence-halfpenny), or is it meant to say 2 shillings and sixpence (half a crown)? Sixpence in old money became two-and-a-half new pence (2½p.); a shilling was five new pence. I wonder if 2½ pence is a 'translation' of 6d., while the shillings are untranslated.
