Photo suggestion

[edit]

As the current image is used in the LOLcat article, I would suggest using another image to his illustrate the type of work he did, possibly http://hdl.loc.gov/loc.pnp/cph.3b39360 Tangibletangerine (talk) 22:16, 1 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Many years later... This source, which was removed from the article, is probably not a WP:RS. It does, however, raise two points worth considering, if sources can be found:
  • It says that the animals Frees used were taxidermy, while the animals used by Frees' predecessor Harry Pointer, were alive. This is especially questionable, and may be caused by confusion with Walter Potter. If those are taxidermy, they are extraordinarily good quality.
  • It also says that Frees didn't use captions, but Pointer did. This seems more likely.
If the later is true, this means that the photo is mis-captioned. The photo being used matches Pointer's style much more closely, so this is at least a plausible mistake. Grayfell (talk) 07:50, 6 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Easy fix, I changed the photo. I chose File:The birthday cake.jpg, since it's a clean scan, relatively high res, and looks good as a thumbnail. Even if he did take the old one, this seems like a perfectly fine choice, too. Grayfell (talk) 07:57, 6 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
