Infobox

[edit]
  • The included image of the airport needs an alt description
I am not sure how to do that. - ✈Sunnya343✈ (talk) 23:36, 20 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Lead

[edit]

Paragraph 3

[edit]
  • Add "in that year alone." after "having received 45,389,074 passengers" please
 Done - ✈Sunnya343✈ (talk) 23:36, 20 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • The lead is relatively short for an article of this length; you should definitely add a bit more info please
 Done - ✈Sunnya343✈ (talk) 23:36, 20 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

History

[edit]

Origins (1920–48)

[edit]
  • "WAE moved here in November 1929." --> "WAE moved to the current site in November 1929."
Actually, WAE moved to the airport that is the current Nellis Air Force Base. After WW2, the Army wanted the airport to itself, so commercial airlines moved to the current McCarran Airport. - ✈Sunnya343✈ (talk) 23:36, 20 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • "However, the situation improved by the late 1930s.[4] Western Air Express bought the airfield and established a monopoly on flights to it." --> "However, the situation improved by the late 1930s, allowing Western Air Express to buy the airfield and establish a monopoly on flights to it.[4]"
 Done - ✈Sunnya343✈ (talk) 23:36, 20 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Early expansion (1949–96)

[edit]
  • "McCarran Field handled over 35,000 passengers." --> "McCarran Field served over 35,000 passengers."
 Done - ✈Sunnya343✈ (talk) 23:36, 20 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Rest is great!

Innovation and D Gates completion (1997–2011)

[edit]
  • "SpeedCheck kiosks have also been installed at the Las Vegas Convention Center.[23]" --> "SpeedCheck kiosks have since been installed at the Las Vegas Convention Center.[23]"
 Done but slightly different - ✈Sunnya343✈ (talk) 23:36, 20 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • Add an additional comma after "However, in January 2014" please
 Done - ✈Sunnya343✈ (talk) 23:36, 20 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • "as they claim the prototype system that the tower is designed for is too faulty.[39]" --> "as they claim the prototype system that the tower was designed for is too faulty.[39]"
 Done - ✈Sunnya343✈ (talk) 23:36, 20 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Terminal 3 and later developments (2012–present)

[edit]
  • "It replaces Terminal 2," --> "It replaced Terminal 2,"
 Done - ✈Sunnya343✈ (talk) 23:36, 20 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • "In June 2016, Qatar Airways announced it would launch flights to Las Vegas from its Doha hub from January 2017." --> "In June 2016, Qatar Airways announced it would launch flights to Las Vegas from its Doha hub in January 2017."
 Done - ✈Sunnya343✈ (talk) 23:36, 20 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Runways

[edit]
  • No source for the following statement: "Between the two sets of parallel runways was runway 14/32, which has been decommissioned."
 Done - ✈Sunnya343✈ (talk) 23:36, 20 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Terminals

[edit]

Terminal 1

[edit]
  • No mistakes but no sources; please add some (and to the "D Gates" sub-section as well please.)
Done Also note that I reorganized the section, is it still ok? - ✈Sunnya343✈ (talk) 23:36, 20 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Terminal 3

[edit]
  • Again, no mistakes but no sources; please add some
 Done - ✈Sunnya343✈ (talk) 23:36, 20 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Access

[edit]
  • "and its own lot for oversize vehicles.[97][98]" --> "and a separate lot for oversize vehicles.[97][98]"
 Done - ✈Sunnya343✈ (talk) 23:36, 20 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

End of GA Review

[edit]

A very, very good article with very few mistakes. I have been to this airport on six separate occasions so was so glad to see this article up for GA review! (I love airports!!) I will place the article on hold for seven days to allow for changes to be made. Good luck and thanks! Cheers, Carbrera (talk) 02:03, 17 June 2016 (UTC).[reply]

@Carbrera: Thanks! This is my home airport so naturally it has to be a GA :) - ✈Sunnya343✈ (talk) 23:36, 20 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
