Poe's Law
[edit]I created this article because there has been a bit of a dispute about whether "Poe's Law" is worth mentioning on List of eponymous laws. (admins see [1]) There are actually two commonly used meanings[2], and one is about this Poe. There are also other definitions, like
- "Poe's law," that a poem should not exceed one hundred lines, appears in his essay "The Philosophy of Composition"

- Note I am not suggesting that the dispute should be moved here, or that I support it being included or excluded on Wikipedia. I created this article because the person is reasonably notable, so it helps to have this biog here. John Vandenberg (chat) 11:49, 16 November 2008 (UTC)
Confusion with Nathan Poe
[edit]According to the Wikipedia article for "Poe's Law", the phenomonon refers to a comment made by one Nathan Poe on a Christian website in 2005. If that is the case, it would seem to have no connection with Harry Lee Poe.
