It looked like whoever created this article just copied and pasted most of it from http://www.operapronto.info/exhibitions/exh_colo/exh_colo.html. Quite a few statements from that source, which made it into the original article, did not appear to be accurate, so I rewrote most of the article using published sources I had available and deleted what I could not find in a more reliable source.
