Note
[edit]Original version bore this signature:
- -Hchandler 23:17, 10 September 2006 (UTC)Harry B. Chandler (great grandson)
and listed "personal family sources" under Sources. Signatures are not allowed in articles, and unverifiable sources are problematic. It seems to me that much of the activity of such an individual falls into the "common knowledge" loophole, but I do think the largest-landowner claim should receive an inline reference. --Dhartung | Talk 06:23, 11 September 2006 (UTC)
Jewish
[edit]There's a revert war going on now about whether Harry Chandler is Jewish. On its face it's not rascist to say somebody is Jewish if there is no innuendo involved. Ethnic background is discussed in a lot of actor biographies. I don't know the whether he is or isn't but a reference should be included on something that is a hot button. I did a spot check on Google and I couldn't find anything one way or the other. Americasroof (talk) 13:26, 22 August 2008 (UTC)
Before Pearl Harbor
[edit]Harry Chandler is said to have taken part in an unofficial peace attempt before the war broke out in the Pacific ( see :http://www.aikidojournal.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=12027&sid=5a2fa4391e3287acc04a136796d6a9ff ). The info comes from an interview of Kazuaki Tanahashi by Aikido Today Magazine (#43): could be interesting to edit it...after being checked ?! Logglog (talk) 11:21, 9 November 2008 (UTC)
