Coyle Spent 1970-74 in a Military Institute?
[edit]If the article is accurate, Coyle spent the years 1970-74 in a military institute training to fight while millions of kids, including myself, were drafted and sent to actually fight. Then, when the Vietnam War was over, he became an officer? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.44.153.18 (talk) 03:46, 9 July 2009 (UTC)
A lesser point, but just to get the history straight, the US did not leave Vietnam until April 1975, almost a year after Harold Coyle would have graduated. More to the heart of the matter, the inference appears to be that since others were actually fighting while he was still undergoing his training, he has somehow shirked his duty as an officer. The only useful information I can find in this entry is that there are many, what were young men, older now, who continue to feel a bitterness that they did not receive the recognition to which they felt they were entitled. No doubt they didn not, but as far as Harold Coyle is concerned in this matter, he has likely brought as much recognition to those who have served as anyone could through the popularity of his writing. I for one, would like to shake his hand.

- First unsigned writer: Are you arguing we should have shut down the universities in America, or merely that we should have closed down VMI and thrown the cadets into the war as we did in 1864? 155.213.224.59 (talk) 17:05, 29 July 2014 (UTC)
Bibliography
[edit]I've added more accurate plot synopses for Coyle's novels up to and including 'Code of Honor'. I haven't read any of Coyle's stuff beyond that, so if anyone cares to add to the list, I'm sure it can't hurt.... Xlh (talk) 14:04, 20 February 2008 (UTC)
