[edit]

Guruchand Thakur son of Sri Sri Harichand Thakur expressed his unwillingness to accept "sudra" tag and clwaerly written that "Namsudra" is a name for the time being , in a Vyavastha prepared by him and Dr C S Mead , but no upper-caste writer has mentioned this custom of Hindu society but one person Dr R.K.Biswas . ( Thesis on "Namsudra Movements IN Bengal ( 1872-1947) ,A Case Study of the Transition from Caste Struggle To Political Identity ::: First Edition December 2010 , Progressive Book Forum ISBN 81-88006-19-X pp 159-160) in his book mentioned this Vyavastha. But wikipedia editors do not accept any Kolkata Publisher as reliable and they mostly prefer upper-caste writers as reliable . S o how to give reliable source if caste apartheid is there in India?

I have no idea who Biswas is/was but, assuming he is reliable (which is likely), what exactly is it you want the article to say? We already mention the Namasudra upliftment movement and the Namasudra article goes into more depth. This article is supposed to be about Harichand Thakur, not his son, so there is a limit to how much we could say here anyway. - Sitush (talk) 11:11, 19 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Harichand Thakur

[edit]

The person originally born as Haricharan Biswas, later became Harichand Thakur, as the preacher of Matua doctrine. There is no Thakur community in Bengal. The lie of the family migrating from Mithila, North Bihar, is a blatant lie. It is a casteist lie. Their motif is to proof that no great man may be born in Chandal community. Haricharan ( there is enough circumstantial proof he was born Haricharan. His father's name in Harililamriti is Bairagi, not Thakur) never went to any school or pathsala, he was not permitted either, as he was born in a avarna or chandal community, they were damn excluded people. First people going to preach for education among chandals are the church people. These Mr Hazra is writing everything wrong. His reference is some web flexes and sponsored by the family to get listed as Higher Caste. Their is a thesis by Sipra Mukherjee, on Hagiography of Harichand, under West Bengal State University, West Bengal , India; these ignorant people of Bangladesh are spreading lies everywhere. Ebery sentence written here is a lie. 10:34, 30 August 2021 (UTC)

--- Ok...this Maithili brahmin part is from the https://en.banglapedia.org/index.php/Thakur,_Harichand. I agree that this may be some web flexes or lie information. The name of his father is Jashomanta Thakur...that is written in other research paper also (see https://ijcrt.org/papers/IJCRT2007558.pdf, https://horibol.page.tl/%26%232474%3B%26%232509%3B%26%232480%3B%26%232469%3B%26%232478%3B-%26%232437%3B%26%232434%3B%26%232486%3B.htm). As Harichand Thakur created Matua religion, so he is now Matua himself (lower caste). That's why probably his son Guruchand Thakur did not get admission in school. I am not sure about this information. For the time being I am removing the Maithili Brahmin part. However, we need very reliable information to put that in Wikipedia. You may share reliable reference on this topic. Thank you...Soumitra

-- I agree with some of your comments. Thank you for indicating that. However, all information is not wrong or lies (probably some information regarding childhood and caste of Harichand Thakur). I relied on the information given in https://en.banglapedia.org/index.php/Thakur,_Harichand. Now I read some more documents regarding that. I did not get much information regarding the childhood and caste of Harichand Thakur. I have now corrected most of the parts. Thank you ...Soumitra
