[edit]@Aciram: Any objection to moving this article to khedival harem? Srnec (talk) 16:44, 2 September 2024 (UTC)
- Yes, I have an objection. The subject of this article is the harem during the Muhammad Ali dynasty. The Muhammad Ali dynasty ruled between 1805 to 1953. The dynasty had a harem from 1805 until 1938. The Khedivate of Egypt excisted between 1867 and 1914. If we change the article title to khedival harem, then it will cover only a part of the period of the article subject. The current title of the article cover the entire period the dynasty had a harem. Therefore, the title should not change. But, of course: it would be entirely non-controversial to redirect the khedival harem-title to this article. After all, it does include that period as well. --Aciram (talk) 17:44, 2 September 2024 (UTC)
- Please consider that, unlike "khedival harem", nobody has ever before used the phrase "Muhammad Ali dynasty harem". It is not a pleasant title. Perhaps "Harem of the Muhammad Ali dynasty". Srnec (talk) 23:10, 2 September 2024 (UTC)
- I do not mind changing the name to "Harem of the Muhammad Ali dynasty". That will still fit the article subject, which describe the harem during the entire reign of this dynasty. I would not object to that. --Aciram (talk) 01:06, 3 September 2024 (UTC)
