Untitled 1
[edit]{{NPOV}} This article contains useful facts, but also some POV and no sources. Not bad enough to put the tag on the page though (imo). Tinus 09:06, 20 January 2006 (UTC)
Untitled 2
[edit]- I based part of the article on the dutch parlement.com-biography. I put the link to the article in the article.
- I'm expecting most of the POV-issues are with the trivia. For the quotes: they're on parlement.com and on the dutch Wiegel article. They belong to dutch urban legend: I wouldn't reference "I did not have sex with that women ms. Lewinsky" either.

- Well, there have been quite some improvements today. The parts I mostly consider point of view are indeed in the trivia:
- Wiegel is a very good and lively speaker. When during a public debate somebody yelled "Asshole" at him, he replied "How nice of you to introduce yourself. My name is Hans Wiegel.".
- Wiegel is the prime example of a VVD politician: a good and lively public speaker, someone who enjoys a good cigar, a good meal and a good wine, who does not take politics too seriously and is willing to go against the majority of his fellow members of parliament.
- It's not that I would like to see them removed, perhaps rephrased. I can't stand this man so I don't really want to edit the article myself. Here's an article (Dutch) that pretty much sums up what I think, perhaps it's useful as a look on the other side of the fence. Unfortunately the article is no longer on the web, so it'll disappear from the google cache soon too. Tinus 20:36, 20 January 2006 (UTC)
- Just for clarity: I personally dislike Wiegel, and politically there are little issues I can agree with on with the VVD, and especially the 1970s VVD. His style and presentation are not my style and presentation, but if some one wants to understand dutch liberal political style, Wiegels style is key. That's why I tried to recreate part of the parlement.com article.
- I've removed the most POV word ("good"), and tried to make the style more neutral. If you think it still is baised and should be altered, feel free to have a go!

- Okay, I did some refactoring to try to make the 'trivia' more like trivia, moved some of them to the main text and included an attempt to an explanation that people like/dislike him (although I can't really tell what it is that draws people to him). Perhaps someone who does like him can include something? :) Also perhaps his row with Ayaan Hirsi Ali is worth mentioning, I don't really remember the details. Tinus 22:33, 22 January 2006 (UTC)
There is an RfC on the question of using "Religion: None" vs. "Religion: None (atheist)" in the infobox on this and other similar pages.
The RfC is at Template talk:Infobox person#RfC: Religion infobox entries for individuals that have no religion.
Please help us determine consensus on this issue. --Guy Macon (talk) 06:28, 24 April 2015 (UTC)
