Advert?

[edit]

mmh, it sounds like an advert? Well, it's the best zoo in Germany. Stuttgart and Gelsenkirchen (ZOOM) are 2nd and 3rd (still very good - there are lots of zoos in Germany). Have a look here: http://www.parkscout.de/artikel/pswaward042010 Look for "bester Zoo". --77.181.233.40 (talk) 20:12, 25 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Then why don't you rewrite the sentence to say that it's been voted best and cite the source above? Until someone does, this will remain classified as sounding like an advert, and a stub, assuming that someone doesn't actually nominate it for deletion. There has now been a reasonable amount of work done to take this beyond stub. I just turned three hidden URLs into citations, and added two more. There are more hidden URLs I'll come back for. It still sounds a bit like an ad (IMH). Donlammers (talk) 05:43, 9 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hello fellow Wikipedians,

I have just added archive links to one external link on Hanover Zoo. Please take a moment to review my edit. If necessary, add {{cbignore}} after the link to keep me from modifying it. Alternatively, you can add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}} to keep me off the page altogether. I made the following changes:

Seasonal employees

[edit]

"... 237 species, which are cared for by more than 400 employees in the summer season."

So in winter they don't need as many employees because half of those species are hibernating or migrating to zoos in more southern climates?

This sentence presumably was an attempt to translate the following sentence from the German lede:
"Das Unternehmen beschäftigt in der Hauptsaison knapp über 400 Mitarbeiter, von denen der Großteil für die Betreuung der Besucher zuständig ist."

The point of this sentence being that the zoo needs more employees in the summer season to take care of the visitors. Not of the animals. The number of animals does not vary significantly by season. The number of visitors does.

And let me add that the questionable source given for this number in the German Wikipedia (an outdated subpage of the zoo website itself) does not even mention seasonal variations at all. --217.239.12.96 (talk) 17:06, 3 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
