Copy violation
[edit]This article seems to be a direct copy and paste of this. That's a copyright violation. Alun (talk) 10:08, 8 September 2008 (UTC)
- It is, yes, but the information here predates that site so it seems very likely that the copyvio is theirs. This article was introduced in a shorter form on July 12, 2006, here. The external source is dated to July 7, 2007, and it mirror word-for-word the version of our article from that date, here. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 01:49, 16 September 2008 (UTC)
- Well spotted. It does make me wonder where the information for the article comes from? It's not cited at all, and so what's the notability of this person? We need multiple independent sources that discuss him to establish his notability, and we need to verify that what we say is correct. Hs notability is not established nor is the article verified. There are lots of weird articles like this on Wikipedia. Alun (talk) 03:25, 16 September 2008 (UTC)
- Well, according to BIO, athletes are generally notable if they "have competed in a fully professional league, or a competition of equivalent standing in a non-league sport such as swimming, golf or tennis." The external link to his profile at the PGA Tour confirms that. While his notability does not seem to me to be in question, I agree with you that the article suffers verifiability issues. There are 5,900 google news hits for "Hank Kuehne", so perhaps somebody with an interest in professional golf will see to it. I've given it an "inline" tag to request attention. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 10:47, 16 September 2008 (UTC)
- OK, good work. Alun (talk) 12:55, 16 September 2008 (UTC)
