Glam Metal... Vince Neil... What have you been smoking... The Iron Maiden reference is good though, but the Glam part is simply ridiculous... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 189.180.55.183 (talk) 16:00, 18 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Assuming this article was written and not copy and pasted, this is a well written and very informative article. I would not have expected such an article for a band like Hammerfall, but they do deserve it.-Exsequor—The preceding unsigned comment was added by Exsequor (talkcontribs) 18:13, 2 July 2005 (UTC).[reply]

There's not a word about Hammerfall's music... we should add that.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 80.137.20.244 (talkcontribs) 09:48, 13 March 2006 (UTC).[reply]

I've updated the article to add backing vocals against Pontus - he does provide backing vocals. --Selyoid (talk) 17:39, 8 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Name

[edit]

Where did they take their name from? There is a city in World of Warcraft called Hammerfall. abelson 10:20, 7 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

And, according to the Swedish Wikipedia, the name is Hammerfall, without the camelcase. Can someone confirm and edit? --CompuChip 10:20, 17 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Their name on the official website Hammerfall.net is spelt like "HammerFall". If you think HammerFall named themselves after that city in World of Warcraft you are very wrong, since the band has been out since about 93...if you didnt mean that then im sorry :P—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 172.203.185.13 (talkcontribs) 05:08, 2 January 2007 (UTC).[reply]
Actually, the city is named after the band (so is the character in the upper-left hand corner on the box for the game). It's named in honor of the band because one of the artists for Blizzard does their album covers. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.43.180.69 (talk) 21:12, 5 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
This is correct. I wish I could find an online version of the interview with Hammerfall explaining this. But I guess if you do the research, you can see that the artist of the Hammerfall albums is on the Blizzard team, and that the city is named in honor of the band. JanderVK (talk) 20:54, 13 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
According to the German Wikipedia, the name came from the song "Lucifer's Hammer" by the American band "Warlord". It contains a line "The Hammer will fall on you!" Also the German Wikipedia talks about "Hammerfall (often written as HammmerFall)" but stays with the version without the camelcase for the rest of the article. I also can confirm that the World of Warcraft city "Hammerfall" is named after the band (with the reasons named above). Maybe an native speaker wants to do the research for sources and add this information to the article. Zearan (talk) 08:39, 26 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The link to HF's Official fanclub, was being removed. I didn't realize it was being done by somebody here at Wiki so I kept re-adding it. I finally got a note saying it doesn't meet the guideline for links. I want to know why it all of a sudden doesn't meet the guidelines after at least a year of being there. If a link to their official fanclub shouldn't be there then neither should a link to their official website. It's absolutely ridiculous.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by Lowgear (talkcontribs) 23:41, 9 April 2007 (UTC).[reply]

You obviously haven't read WP:EL, I recommend you do. What possible useful purpose does a fanclub page serve a Wikipedia article? Not much. The fanclub page fails many criteria listed in WP:EL for inclusion into the article. The fanclub link was up for a long time because a lot of wiki editors don't follow Wiki policies and guidelines. But seriously I suggest any editors seeking to add an external link to read WP:EL to see if it can even be added in the first place. --Leon Sword 02:29, 12 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I don't see where WP:EL prohibits the linking of fansites - in fact it seems to actively encourage the inclusion of sites like the one we are discussing: "Sites with other meaningful, relevant content that is not suitable for inclusion in an article, such as reviews and interviews," under "What should be linked". --Pyreforge 07:05, 1 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
You must have read only that part of WP:EL, because if you read the entire thing you'll notice that it says that links to sites which require paying membership shouldn't be linked. I don't know if you have even been to that site because you seem to think that it's a fansite and it isn't, it's a fanclub, which is even worse than a fansite. Also, I don't know why you would want to add another link to the article when it already has plenty of external links that provide interviews, reviews, and other stuff which can't be included in Wikipedia. --Leon Sword 00:30, 2 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I apologise - I had read all of WP:EL, however I had not adequately investigated the website - I had foolishly assumed it to be a fansite rather than a fanclub, despite the title of the main page. --Pyreforge 05:00, 2 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

A Song of Ice and Fire

[edit]

Can anyone find a reference for the connection? All I've been able to dig up is a question about it in an interview, to which Anders responded that since Joacim writes all the lyrics, if there is a connection it would be through him. I'm not a huge HammerFall fan, and I haven't listened to all of their albums, but the possible connections I can come up with are the album "Chapter V: Unbent, Unbowed, Unbroken" - "Unbent, Unbowed, Unbroken" are the words of House Martell; the song "Take the Black" - if that's not a reference to the Night's Watch I don't know what it is. On the album Threshold there may be a reference in the song "Dark Wings, Dark Words", in the title at least. It's tenuous at best, and definitely not worth including in the article, but could "Howlin' with the 'Pac" be a reference to Bran? --Pyreforge 04:59, 4 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Trivia

[edit]

Guys I added a trivia section for the band, mentioning the usually mislabeled song "Stronger Than All". Feel free to add more things there. Iaberis (talk) 09:23, 27 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Who's the Didier they talk about in the Trivia part about World of Warcraft? 88.197.137.53 (talk) 17:36, 6 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

C class?

[edit]

This article may be C class. Mostly for the "citations" part. There are 3 citiations and each is only used once. This seems a tad low. Especially for an article that is 13kB of readable prose.--Rockfang (talk) 01:34, 25 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Musical style and influences

[edit]

There should be here agree their influences as everyone knows loves Joacim Cans Helloween, Yngwie J. Malmsteen, chastain, Pretty Maids, Accept, Judas Priest. and other bands that they covered and its inspiration for your style and your music . Diogo t. alvim 23:18, 30 november 2011 (UTC)

(r)Evolotion Section

[edit]

"[...] for a hard-hitting, in-your-face album. [...] the drums, guitar and bass has gotten back that raw energy that hasn't been duplicated since the first album. [...] who somehow got Joacim to perform even better than last time."

This reads like a PR article from the record company. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.79.56.116 (talk) 11:10, 5 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

That's true, maybe you should edit it :) Vortiene (talk) 14:44, 5 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
