Reliability
[edit]Quoting feedback from an IP: "That there was a Halloween Massacre is a matter of serious dispute. This was the start of the post election war in Angola in 1992, following increasing tensions as UNITA decided not to accept the election results. Observers in Luanda at the time saw that both sides were armed and waiting for the explosion which came in 3 days of fighting. The interpretation of this event as a massacre of the Bakongo is incorrect - it was a battle in which UNITA tried to seize the capital Luanda. Bakongo supporters of another rebel group (i.e. FNLA) were indeed killed but this was not what the event was about." As this corresponds to oral information I received at the time, it seems to me evident that we need more written sources in order to establish the exact historical truth. -- Aflis (talk) 15:00, 23 September 2012 (UTC)
Moving page
[edit]Hi. I've never heard of any "Halloween Massacre", except the one in the US, with President Ford. A quick search on the internet turns up countless locations of the same text, pointing to one single direnction. In Portuguese - therefore including Angola - it is known as the "Massacre de Outubro" (October Massacre). The creator of the page says he based it on this. I propose we move the page to October Massacre (Angola). We need to define it as Angola, as October seems to be a very popular month for massacres - 8 at last count!
