Mohrodendron naming

[edit]

I added information about Haleisa/Mohrodendron naming. But Keeler was written in 1900 and I omitted she says that at the time Mohrodendron was the preferred name. Maybe someone who knows what happened to that name can add a little something. (SEWilco 04:10, 20 May 2007 (UTC))[reply]

The risks of using hundred-year old material ;-) The question has long since been sorted out with Halesia now being a conserved name; "Mohrodendron" is now a forgotten footnote of the past, of negligible significance. - MPF 11:04, 10 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Carolinum and tetraptera

[edit]

Keeler also says the Silverbell-tree names were Mohrodendron carolinum and Halesia tetraptera. Keeler does distinguish between this tree and "a closely allied species" the Snowdrop-tree (Mohrodendron dipterum) "which has developed on the low lands along the southern coast".
