Superb 1866?
[edit]According to .."'Blackwall Yard: Development, c.1819-1991'". Survey of London: volumes 43 and 44: Poplar, Blackwall and Isle of Dogs (1994), pp. 565-574. English Heritage. Retrieved 2007-10-09... the first iron ship launched by R & H Green was 'the 364-ton Superb' in 1866. Can anyone tell me if this is one of the ships listed on this page? I am putting together a page on Blackwall Yard, which includes R & H Green. 11:43, 9 October 2007 (UTC)
- She wasn't any of these as none were launched in 1866. The Navy ironclads of this period were also much bigger, HMS Warrior, launched in 1860, displaced over 9,000 tons. The Superb in your source was almost certainly a small civilian craft. Benea (talk) 02:16, 15 August 2008 (UTC)
