[edit]For the record, please note that references to the Monarch being Byng's flagship are in error; this error is even repeated by the NMM on their website. While the Monarch was most certainly the ship aboard which Byng was executed, she was never his flagship, and in fact he only went aboard her after his sentence of death had been pronounced by the court martial.
