[edit]The cannon on this submarine ship was vintage 1890-era Vickers, with piano wire wrapping between the outer and inner barrel shell for stress-bearing. Once it became unwinded, accidentally torn away with the muzzle seal when firing the main gun and the entire hull was bondaged in steel wire taking three full days to remove with pliers. Saw a photo of it years ago, looked very amusing. This ship was a totally nuts gothic fantasy idea! if I understand correctly it was originally fitted with steam engines instead of diesel and sank once because of the chimney! 195.70.32.136 11:19, 22 April 2006 (UTC)
