[edit]

there was an h.m.s.formidable anchored off Portishead for many years early 20th century.it was used for young boys taken off the streets of Bristol to train them for a naval career.Later it was replaced by a shore establishment at Portishead also called Formidable or the nautical school. It has now been converted into apaprtments. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 212.158.113.13 (talkcontribs) 04:47, 21 June 2006
