It seems highly unlikely that the # sign, which to this day remains little used in the UK and even less so in continental Europe, would be of any concern to the creators and users of an obsolete Portuguese typewriter keyboard. Is this really relevant?

Mnemonic removed. Perhaps vandalism? It doesn't make much sense that an English mnemonic would be widely used for a Portuguese keyboard.
