Background
[edit]There is reason to believe Phillips, with dates 1811-1892, was an illegitimate son of Harry Phillips (1766-1839), founder of the Phillips auction house.[1] That page is very circumstantial about the family, without being a reliable source. Charles Matthews (talk) 13:17, 3 June 2017 (UTC)
