Jim Knight reference

[edit]

It is fair to say that in 2003 the Observer was at least favourable to Labour over the Conservatives. Consequently if the current Labour MP for South Dorset calls Barnett the best MP the constituency had in the Observer, it is a biased source. 79.73.87.25 (talk) 16:34, 20 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Your reference to The Observer newspaper points to a DAB page. You mean The Observer. WP says "it takes a liberal/social democratic line on most issues" and I believe that this was the case in 2003 and is still the case.
The 2003 article, referring to Barnett as "the best MP the area had ever had", does not display any pro-Labour bias, in my view. The quote from the current Labour MP clearly indicates the angle he takes. The Observer doesn't say he was the best MP the area ever had, Jim Knight does, when contemplating his potential defeat in the forthcoming election. The PPCs of other parties are quoted also.
I'll try to find a better reference to Guy Barnett's selfless work as a Constituency MP, both in South Dorset and Greenwich. Vernon White . . . Talk 21:45, 21 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
