Two meanings
[edit]Guwen has two meanings in Chinese. One is the really ancient scripts, namely oracle bone and early Zhou bronze, and the other is the misapplication of the term by Xu Shen in his Shuowen Jiezi. Both are common, so this page needs to be expanded to clarify this.Dragonbones 09:17, 23 March 2006 (UTC)
- Nope. Guwen has the PRIMARY meaning of Classical Chinese as taught to kids in school. If it is sometimes also applied to the "really ancient scripts" that just needs to be dabbed out at the top of that page after the merge. — LlywelynII 07:45, 15 January 2014 (UTC)
