[edit]The part in the lead regarding the album's chart performance wherein a few countries are stated — isn't it supposed to go in alphabetical order as to not come off as favoritism or is it alright with beginning the order with the U.S., which indeed, is the primary and most important commercial market to the project and its corresponding artist, people involved, and organizations here?
Please correct me if I am wrong.

Persistent change in the lead sentence
[edit]I have been seeing this type of edit a number of times lately, where the sentence's start is changed from Guts (stylized in all caps) is the second studio album by American singer-songwriter Olivia Rodrigo...
to Guts (stylized in all caps) is the second studio album by the American singer-songwriter Olivia Rodrigo...
. This has been happening across a number of articles about Rodrigo's albums, songs and other related stuff, and this wave of edits might not be confined to just her. I know I've come across someone citing a guideline about the word the needing to precede the nationality in these type of constructs, but I forget which guideline ... and these more recent edits fail to cite the guideline.
Even knowing or not knowing the guideline, this is no doubt a disputed edit, and may need to be discussed further here. MPFitz1968 (talk) 07:15, 4 May 2024 (UTC)
- It's actually just an essay, which, incidentally, also says to respect the status quo. I'd support leaving out the "the," because that seems to be more common in American English, and, for all I can tell, it's what the status quo on this article is.
- I remember there being a discussion about this essay a couple of weeks ago on Wikipedia talk:Manual of Style. If there are still people trying to make these edits, I'd suspect they're probably being disruptive on purpose. Clarinetguy097 (talk) 00:16, 6 May 2024 (UTC)
Stylization is not trivial
[edit]Stylization is not a trivial detail, particularly when it reflects an artist’s intentional branding. In the case of Olivia Rodrigo’s album GUTS, the all-caps presentation is a deliberate choice by the artist and her team, visible across major platforms like Spotify, iTunes, and others. This consistent use of stylization is integral to the album’s identity and how it’s marketed, making it a significant aspect of the title rather than a mere design flourish. Acknowledging this stylization in the article respects the artist's branding and provides readers with a more accurate representation of the album as it is publicly presented and recognized. - @Axivix: Rather than highlighting the identity of the album, we must seek formality of terms. There is a rule whose name I don't remember, but which, in my words, says that referring to a work of art primarily by its stylized name belongs to the informal spectrum. Unless its title cannot be further simplified (such as 143), the title of the article and the reference to its name should be under sentence structure. Santi (talk) 23:36, 23 September 2024 (UTC)
"Pretty Isn't Pretty" sample
[edit]Hi, everyone.
I notice that there is a sample of this song within the article, where its description describes its musicality, but apparently someone deleted that part in the body in the article, so the sample description becomes unsourced. I'm not sure if it was deleted or if that information was never there, so I would like you to resolve that issue. Thanks. Santi (talk) 23:40, 23 September 2024 (UTC)
ARIA Award for Best International Artist - Accolades
[edit]There is some kind of edit war going on between @Ben0006, @Bichota B and me at the Accolades section.
Ben0006's reasons, in good faith, are that the addition of Best International Artist is allowed due to sources stating that said category nominates artists for albums released during the eligibility period, with the album being mentioned when the nominations were reported. However, the recipient of the category is Olivia Rodrigo herself, not the album Guts per se, for which I (and Bichota B, as well) have been reverting those editions.
Tagging editors I've seen actively contribuiting in music field articles to ask them your point of view.
Sorry for any incovenient CC: @Ronherry, @HorrorLover555, @Orangesclub, @Bgkc4444 - Editor a la fuerza (talk) 22:52, 21 November 2024 (UTC)
- I mean, that's why I've reverted the edits too, the category itself is called Best International Artist, and it was listed only as Olivia Rodrigo. Bichota B (talk) 04:34, 22 November 2024 (UTC)
- I get that, but ARIA Awards beg to differ I guess. ARIAs also credit the Album for which the Artist got nominated for Artist of the Year, when announcing/awarding the categories. I think it's alright to add ARIA Artist of the Year to the album article if the cited secondary source supports it. ℛonherry☘ 05:09, 22 November 2024 (UTC)
- So should we keep it in the album page?
- Thanks.
- Ben | he/him (talk) 14:13, 24 November 2024 (UTC)
- Yes. I support keeping it in the album article. ℛonherry☘ 18:53, 28 November 2024 (UTC)
