settlements[edit]

Settlements is the most common and neutral used terms: [1] --Supreme Deliciousness (talk) 00:21, 12 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

That is your opinion, not consensus. Blanketly referring to all Israeli settlements by that general label and removing all mentions of their size and/or municipal status might be viewed as POV and suspect editing. --Shuki (talk) 01:02, 12 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

No source since July 2009[edit]

Article be tag for have no source begin June 2009. If no source find or add or provide notableness, i move to request delete. Ani medjool (talk) 00:26, 12 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Why threaten?. If there is a problem with this article, either add a prod or go to Afd. --Shuki (talk) 01:00, 12 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I'm contesting the speedy deletion. Looking at many of the other towns, kibbutzim etc. in the Golan Heights, it seems to me that many of these also lack references. The problem here is probably not that the article shouldn't exist, but that it needs more references. I suspect that many of the important references are in Hebrew or even Arabic. The link to this page from Avnei Eitan and the redirect from "Gush Chispin" do seem to support notability, despite the lack of references in the article. I'm about to post on WikiProject Israel, WikiProject Syria and WikiProject Cities about this. Also, I'm about to add the Template that has many of the other unreferenced articles I found. --AFriedman (talk) 02:09, 14 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks AFriedman, I agree - this article should not be deleted just because the references are in Hebrew. Breein1007 (talk) 19:30, 14 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Uhhh, there arent any references, in Hebrew, English, or Greek. nableezy - 21:35, 14 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
The point is that they aren't referenced in the article because they aren't in English. Do you want me to insert Hebrew references? Will that solve the problem? Breein1007 (talk) 21:38, 14 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, provide the original quote and a translation within the ref. (see WP:NONENG and, if you would like an example of how to format the refs see al-Marsad) nableezy - 21:41, 14 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I posted this on the WP Israel discussion page:

I think that I'm willing to let Gush Hispin be deleted. It merely seems like an informal term used to describe the grouping of localities. In the past, I also opposed the use of the word 'bloc', especially when there was no agreed/published definition on that term (e.g. Ariel bloc). Very low ghits, even in Hebrew. Perhaps merge it to the Golan Heights article or as 'matter of fact' in the separate articles of the localities mentioned. --Shuki (talk) 23:39, 15 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Just a note about proposed deletions - a PROD is only for uncontroversial deletions, where nobody objects to the article's deletion. Two people above are objecting to its deletion. Since nothing at WP:CSD seems to apply, anyone who wants deletion of this article should take it to WP:AFD. -- Atama 18:16, 19 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

WTF are you guys doing? butt and er... are worthy of articles. Add some sources and stop screwing around.Cptnono (talk) 14:21, 20 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Why thank you for that incredibly insightful comment. We'll get right on it. nableezy - 15:47, 20 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
