Blogs are not reliable sources

[edit]

Please always use reliable secondary sources when including information for a biography of a living person. Blogs are not acceptable sources for contentious information. When discussing controversy you will need to at least prove the analysis has occurred in media sources such as newspapers or books or it just cannot be included here. Thank you. Yes, I understand. That's fair. However, the issue that occurred with Monsignor Marini was of great importance for his career as Papal MC. can you leave my edit on the page until any editor including myself can find another reliable source? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.136.168.100 (talk) 02:19, 13 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
No, you can restore your edit once you've located the source for it. Per WP:BLPSOURCES and WP:BLPREMOVE, contentious poorly-sourced information is to be removed immediately, and not restored without proper sourcing. If these issues were truly important as you say, they would be covered generously in reliable sources. Elizium23 (talk) 02:35, 13 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The word "staff"

[edit]

Are you sure that the meaning of "staff" becomes clear in the text? I am not. An older (30 march 2013) version of the text is clear: "traditional papal staff (the Ferula Staff, made for Pope Pius IX)." So "staff" does neither mean people serving to the pope, nor "a group of positions of people serving to the pope". "Staff" means liturgical objects.--Himbeerbläuling (talk) 18:47, 2 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

staff of office links to crosier. Should we have a link like this here? Or should we use one of these terms in the text? --Himbeerbläuling (talk) 05:51, 1 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Since the revision as of 21:04, 30 August 2021, the sentence is no longer in the article text. This thread is resolved. (A template will not work as there is no archive?) --Himbeerbläuling (talk) 19:46, 14 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
