Dates

[edit]

Please correct the error in this section. GL began Television broadcasts in January 25 1952 (55 years ago today in fact) Please do not link individual years, per Wikipedia:Manual_of_Style_(dates_and_numbers)#Date_formatting and WP:CONTEXT. The exception is if the year is from a different decade than the previous article, for example referencing something which happened in the previous or next decade. Then, the year should be piped to the appropriate article:

[[Guiding Light (1960-1969)|1962]]

Citations

[edit]

Fascinating info here, but NONE of it has a source. Anyone know where this info about Irna & the color episodes, and Irna being asked to combine GL and SFT...where is that all from? 2601:241:8103:C79D:98B5:A186:6AFC:E98D (talk) 15:58, 17 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Plot Development Rewrite

[edit]

Plot development sections for TGL in each decade are long, poorly written, and riddled with bad grammar, and impossible to read run-on sentences. I took a hard brush to all 4,628 words of this section and came back with a respectable 4,206. While it is possible to cut more, I'm not sure we should. For one, this is attempting to summarize 10 years of plot development for a show that has been poorly preserved given its place in history. Any details cut here may end up lost forever. I'm not even clear on the source of this original plot summary as it seems to have been written almost stream of consciousness from someone's memory. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Xedrix (talkcontribs) 17:18, 6 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I have scripts for all episodes from 1952 to 1959. I could do a proper summary. If you could give me guidelines on word count and maybe go over it for me to see if it is appropriate. 121.200.7.156 (talk) 08:04, 5 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Also everything up to the line "On a date with Bob Lang" happens previous to the television show. The first weeks has Meta in New York with Trudy after a separation with Joe. Kathy moving out and Bill also in New York over seeing Gloria's tv show. 121.200.7.156 (talk) 08:58, 5 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Characters

[edit]

Many errors here. I have scripts of the show from 1952 - 1959 and much of this information needs to be corrected.

Rev. Dr. Paul Keeler did not appear on the television version until January 12, 1953 played by Melville Ruick. Ed Begley was never on the television show but the radio show only. I have deleted his credit.

I have added dates where possible for other characters. Many listed under the original cast were not there the first week of the television show. 121.200.7.156 (talk) 08:03, 5 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
