Right then, let's take a look....will make straightforward changes as I go (please revert if I accidentally change the meaning) and jot queries below: Cas Liber (talk · contribs) 10:29, 5 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Maybe it's just me...I find "gone extinct" weird-sounding. I prefer "became extinct", or "vanished"...

of the red-fan parrot (Deroptyus accipitrinus), a continental species. = "continental" makes me think of "continental breakfast" - I guess there are two continents close to the Caribbean so why not just say "South American"

.. were a solid basis for believing the Guadeloupe amazon existed. - why not just " were a solid basis for the Guadeloupe amazon's existence."?

They found it similar to that of the imperial amazon, but slightly shorter, and due to the fact that Maria Galante shares many modern bird species with Guadeloupe, they found it likely that the bone belonged to the Guadeloupe amazon, and assigned it to A. cf. violacea (which implies the classification is uncertain). - a looong (and unwieldy) sentence. Split please

was probably the same as the imperial amazon --> "was probably the same species as the imperial amazon"

It used a francisised version -why not just "It used a French version"
It isn't really a French word as such, but a "frenchified" spelling of a Carib word, so I think it would be misleading? The source says "francized", which I didn't think was a real word at the time, but now I see I could maybe link to Francization.. FunkMonk (talk) 11:35, 5 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Sounds good. Cas Liber (talk · contribs) 13:02, 5 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Otherwise looking ok. Cas Liber (talk · contribs) 10:39, 5 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the quick review! FunkMonk (talk) 11:35, 5 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
And by the way, does that bird name dictionary say anything about the meaning of violacea? I'd wager it just means violet, but I'd need a source... FunkMonk (talk) 11:39, 5 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I'll find something. Cas Liber (talk · contribs) 13:32, 5 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
