Two fictional characters

It was written that Groot is the name of two fictional characters but there is a problem.

Groot techinally was reborn after his adult self's death so it is not really 2. Like for Phoenix, you cannot say 2 phoenixes as one is reborn again. Seaweed Brain1993 (talk) 07:44, 4 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

They are two separate characters. If memory serves me right, James Gunn has said Baby/Teen/Swole Groot is Adult Groot's son. InfiniteNexus (talk) 05:01, 6 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Gender

@InfiniteNexus: Do we really know Groot's "gender" though? We've seen him reproduce once, and it was not in a "gendered" way. BD2412 T 14:07, 10 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I can't recall if this was ever discussed onscreen or by Gunn/Diesel, but a quick Google search led me to these sources: [1], [2]. InfiniteNexus (talk) 18:13, 10 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

In any case, I have removed the just-added "LGBTQ" category, as I don't think it makes much sense to assign human sexual classifications to a tree. There are plenty of fictional anthropomorphized plants in the world who would merit the same treatment, by that standard. BD2412 T 11:11, 26 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
