Authenticity check: A search reveals that the phrase "regarded by many" appears in the text. Is the phrase a symptom of a dubious statement? Could a source be quoted instead? Perhaps the "many" could be identified? Might text be edited to more genuinely reflect specific facts?

I don't know how to fix this, but the "The Cotton Club" link takes you not to the article about the film Hines starred in, but to the article about the actual club. Can somebody who knows how to fix this take care of it? Thanks! ChristinaDunigan 20:25, 27 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Done, somebody has fixed the link to patch to the film. Eruditess (talk) 15:29, 20 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

This bio could be improved

I'm admittedly biased as a Hines' fan, but he was a tremendous talent on both screen and stage. This page is not quite worthy of him. Copywryter 16:48, 18 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

He was a great entertainer and his personal life section could certainly be expanded upon.... SChalice 02:14, 3 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Internment

[edit]

I think that an explanation needs to be added as to why Mr. Hines would be interred in an obscure hicktown in Canada. Especially considering that he had been born in New York City and had lived most of his later life in California.

And a Ukrainian cemetery? I assume that you mean "Ukrainian Orthodox"? Or "Ukrainian Catholic"? Either way, that's a bit odd. As a person from an African-American background, I surmise that Mr. Hines likely grew up in the Protestant faith (Baptist, in particular). Again, needs to be explained.
