Hair
Would anyone like to add something about Greg Proops' hair? It's one of the most recognizable things about him. He reminds me of Rudy Coby. Is his hair real? - Richardcavell 09:39, 24 August 2005 (UTC)
Native of San Francisco?
Just a nitpick but if Proops was born in Phoenix, Arizona, he's not a native of San Francisco, but he may have grown up there. 81.155.172.95 00:18, 4 March 2006 (UTC)
Yeah, just read some of the articles about him at his website and maybe he was born in Phoenix but he did apparently grow up in San Fran. I'm gonna change that. --Wikitoddia 18:18, 25 June 2006 (UTC)
== To be specific, Greg actually grew up in San Carlos, California -- a suburb 25 miles south of San Francisco-- after moving there from Arizona while in elementary school. Greg sometimes discusses his life in San Carlos (calling it the whitest city in America), and the San Carlos High mascot (the Dons) in his stand-up act.
Drew Carey calling Greg a 'commie'.
I don't believe this ever happened. He called Brad Sherwood a 'commie' once, but I can't recall it ever happening to Greg.--Genericchimera 12:34, 6 September 2006 (UTC)
College
I heard several other places (I forget where) that he attended College of San Mateo before SF State. Can anyone find anything on this?
Did he or did he not graduate from college? Article contains a contradiction. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Drzaphod (talk • contribs) 01:40, 18 October 2009 (UTC)
LGBT Connection?
Why is this article within the scope of LGBT studies, as indicated by the banner at the top of this discussion page? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.12.237.230 (talk) 21:38, 6 October 2009 (UTC)
- I removed the LGBT banner. LonelyMarble (talk) 21:27, 27 March 2010 (UTC)

Interview from Being There Magazine Nothing Proops-related there. 71.52.46.122 (talk) 05:48, 8 March 2012 (UTC)
dug around and found the interview in that site's archive: http://beingtheremag.com/archives/feature.php?id=169&issue=5
Did not restore it to "related links" because it's one of many Proops interviews online, and I don't think it's any more relevant than any other one. Bustter (talk) 05:53, 8 March 2012 (UTC)

immense popularity?
I think the claim that Proops enjoys "immence popularity" in Europe needs to be changed. He's not a household name, and is basically seen as the token yank in the odd crap sitcom and who sometimes gives his (overzellous, unfunny, annoying, self-involved, and, often, bullshit) opinon on either america ("america is differant to England" Yawn, is it now Greg?) or comedians ("american comedians are differant to English comedians" yeah, ok Greg. Do you tell any jokes then? or do you just talk loudly in a criminally annoying, grating american accent?) on those Top 100 shows, stuff like that. You see him every now and then on standup shows, but even on the underground circuit he's not held in the same regards as most of the "gonna-be's". Basically, he's become a has-been without actually doing anything. Immence popularity at the moment probably reffers to the likes of little britian, Ricky Gervais, Peter Kay etc. Even very good, high profile comedians like, say, bill baily or frank skinner don't enjoy "immence popularity". Proops, therefore, certainly has never qualified for such success.--Crestville 21:52, 7 December 2005 (UTC)
Katie-Anne123 response:
Wow thats mature, lets all resort to name calling, so what you don't agree, clearly you can't understand that your opinion is just that -an opinion. So kindly stop presenting it like fact, hey personally I don't like Gervais, nor do I rate bill bailey or frank skinner who you inform us are 'very good' thats just my opinion, or do I need punctuate my OPINION with crap, overzellous, unfunny, annoying, self-involved, bullshit, criminally annoying, grating and has-been in order to inform you of it?
Anyway thanks for that compelling tale, I'll be sure to use this example should I ever need a well formulated argument, and one last thing? Why, if you loath Mr Proops so much, did you look him up? Or was this written with the intent purpose of annoying somebody? If so well done and I once again applaud your maturity. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Katie-Anne123 (talk • contribs) 23:53, 6 May 2008 (UTC)
