It would be really good if we would have a demographic development of the area, like for example San Francisco Bay Area http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/San_Francisco_Bay_Area#Demographics

MSA

[edit]

Office US Census lists the MSA as "Houston-The Woodlands-Sugar Land" over a nine county area. [1][2] — Preceding unsigned comment added by Postoak (talkcontribs) 01:51, 29 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Population Density

[edit]

Currently, what I presume is supposed to be the MSA population density is given as 2,978.5/sq mi. This is way off (it's the urban population density based on the population and area data provided).

If unqualified population density is, in fact, supposed to be for the entire MSA — which appears to be the case for other MSA articles— this very much needs to be corrected as population density is an important consideration in COVID-19 discussions.

If there's no objection, I'll move this number to "urban population density" and try to come up with something for overall density that at least bears some resemblance to reality. Eastcheap (talk) 15:09, 24 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

This doesn't seem to have been changed in the infobox? It still lists the urban density. 73.16.160.243 (talk) 14:26, 16 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Pertaining to the official name of Greater Houston

[edit]

Previous contributions extending the name of the Greater Houston metropolitan statistical area's official name, as designated by the U.S. Office of Management and Budget, determined (with no reliable sources) that it's name as determined per the organization previously mentioned, to be: Houston–The Woodlands–Sugar Land-Galveston-Texas City-Brazoria. These contributions have been reverted numerous times, as the official name, per the U.S. Office of Management of Budget, is: Houston–The Woodlands–Sugar Land. Appropriate citations have been placed within the article supporting the name designated by the particular governmental agency. Therefore, I encourage all contributors to please find sources determining the name of such a metropolitan region before adding an all-inclusive name or adding the text of cities within the region to the infobox's collage caption when there are also images lacking for those additional municipalities. Thank you. - TheLionHasSeen (talk) 18:09, 17 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
