Confusing subspecies name of Great Thrush

[edit]

Turdidae.  Turdus fuscater opertaneus.  Great Thrush subspecies.

The difficulty I have with this name is that I am not aware of who the authority is.  I have reason to believe that it may be Rodolphe Meyer de Schauensee.

In addition, there is an issue of its confusion with another name.  There is a name for a subspecies of the Slaty-backed Nightingale-Thrush subspecies, also South American----Catharus fuscater opertaneus Wetmore, 1955.  Some sources list or describe both of these (e. g. A Guide to the Birds of Colombia (Hilty & Brown, pp. 543--545) and A Complete Checklist of the Birds of the World (Howard & Moore (1980), pp. 408, 412)).  I would be willing to try and trace the source of the unusual name in Turdus or provide one or more additional sources which give this name.
