Wrong size for palace

[edit]

The text states that the palace had an area of more than 200 million square feet (s.f.). At approx. 25M s.f./sq. mile, that would be something covering, say, 3x3 miles (5x5 km or so), an absurd size. Google Maps shows that that is roughly the area of the entire peninsula, indeed the entire city out to the Theodosian walls!

Perhaps 200 thousand? Jmacwiki (talk) 00:24, 1 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I have now replaced the text with "200,000" s.f. (simply deleting 3 zeroes): approx. 5 acres or 2 ha. This is an estimate on my part! If you know of a better estimate, or (much better) an accurate report, please insert the definitive value. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jmacwiki (talkcontribs) 01:57, 13 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
