There's a line that describes direct descendants of Chief Gray Lock leading "current" Missisquoi Abenaki. It is unsupported by any citation, and raises a serious red flag given the emerging controversy around the legitimacy of Vermont's four state-recognized tribes (in short: they've provided no evidence that they're Abenaki by descent or kinship, they did not exist as communities before 1970, their explanations for their 200-year invisibility are fraught with contradictions, and the Abenaki First Nation at Odanak formally denounces them. It's just a huge mess right now). Or, if the "missisquoi Abenaki" in that line is a reference to the Abenaki who have, since the mid 1700s, lived at Odanak, then that should be specified. 209.6.155.153 (talk) 01:22, 23 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
