– The village is named after the nearly lake, however the lake gets less views and there are a number of other uses so disambiguation is probably best. Although there are other settlements, none are villages so like Corfe Castle (village), per Talk:Corfe Castle (village)#Requested move 12 April 2014 "village" should be used, unlike Windermere, Cumbria (town) which Windermere, Florida is also a town. Grasmere, Cumbria should then redirect to the DAB. Crouch, Swale (talk) 13:02, 6 October 2018 (UTC)
OpposeSupport the lake is equally or more important. In ictu oculi (talk) 20:20, 7 October 2018 (UTC)- @In ictu oculi: I don't understand, you have stated that the lake is equally or more important, but my proposal is to move the village away from the base name. I didn't propose to put the lake as the base name due to the fact that the village gets lots more views. By opposing you seem to be saying that the village should remain primary, which is not what you appear to be saying. Crouch, Swale (talk) 20:23, 7 October 2018 (UTC)
- Sorry, misread your explanation. Corrected SUPPORT. In ictu oculi (talk) 20:31, 7 October 2018 (UTC)
- Support move of dab page to primary topic, but move of village (more sought than lake, as mentioned above) should be to standard form Grasmere, Cumbria, with hatnote there pointing to the lake. PamD 22:24, 7 October 2018 (UTC)
- As noted both lake and village are called "Grasmere" and both are in Cumbria, the primary reason for this is to disambiguate from the lake so "Cumbria" isn't helpful. Crouch, Swale (talk) 09:29, 8 October 2018 (UTC)
