Sorry I haven't gotten to this review in a timely manner, and that I don't really have a complete listing right now, I'm just listing things as I see them.
- Images
- The images pretty much just appear to be used as decoration in the context of the article. While I admit it's kind of nice to have comparisons of the games in this genre, A) the comparison is superficial ("ok, here it is" as opposed to "contrast X, where Y is Z, with A, where B is less like Z), and I doubt in many instances you can beef it up without going to synthesis, and B) There's not that much critical commentary to support them either, as per WP:NFCC. I would say since it's so defining, the lead GTA image can stay (with a beefed up rationale), but File:Mafia-CoLH Car Pursuit.jpg, File:Crackdown-sector-map.jpg and File:Body Harvest screen.jpg should probably go.
- References
- All the references appear to meet reliability criterion (although I always shudder at the use of Games Radar.) However there needs to be better formatting. Many references are missing fields such as author or date (for example the Games Radar one), or misuse the publisher/work fields (italicize newspapers and magazines, such as Wired and The Washington Post.) It would be nice to have the publishers/authors wikilinked uniformly as well.
- Prose
- Decent enough. There's some unfortunate construction which due to the combination of sources cannot be easily avoided. Seems like a good breadth of content for the article, and I remember checking for print stuff so I'm fairly sure the bases are covered on that angle.

- Thanks for the feedback. I understand things are busy.
- I tried to reformat the references to the extent that I could. But some of the sources lack an author or other specific information.
- I tried to beef up the captions and rationales for the images. I think it's important that people can draw comparisons between Grand Theft Auto and other games, including Body Harvest as a pioneer of the entire genre. This is pretty consistent with 4X, a featured article on a game genre that uses three non-free copyrighted images to give readers a relevant frame of comparison. If need be, I can refer to other "good articles" on game genres as precedent too. That said, I took your comments to heart, and in addition to those improvements, I also removed the File:Crackdown-sector-map.jpg as it did not really do a good job of illustrating what it was supposed to.
- I'm glad the prose is okay, but feel free to nitpick.
- Let me know any issues that need resolution, and I'll get to work. Randomran (talk) 06:05, 8 May 2009 (UTC)
- I made a smattering of tweaks throughout, and will pass, but some remain. If it's a newspaper, you should use the
work
parameter to italicize them. If you're going to wikilink publishers, do it to every one, don't cherry pick. I also rearranged authors to LAST, FIRST as they should be, and made some prose changes so it's hopefully not so staid in parts. --Der Wohltemperierte Fuchs (talk) 02:13, 15 May 2009 (UTC)- Thanks a lot. I'll try to keep tweaking the article if only to maintain its quality. Randomran (talk) 03:12, 15 May 2009 (UTC)
