"He has never recorded solo piano music, by his own choice": This was true (AFAIK) when the NYT article was written, but it's not true anymore - Johnson recorded pieces from Schumann's Klavieralbum für die Jungend on the 9th volume of the Hyperion Schumann Edition. I'd say just remove the line, because it seems kind of a weird thing to even mention in the first place (most accompanists don't record solo rep, unless they're primarily concert pianists like Alfred Brendel or Andras Schiff).
