Graftonite is the registered trademark of a plastic used to make saxophone mouthpieces by the D'Addario Co. of Farmingdale NY, USA under the name "Rico Royal." The term "Graftonite" may (or may not) be a reference to the Grafton plastic saxophone of the 1950s. One presumes that the company is aware of the fact that Graftonite is a mineral.
