Governor of the South Pacific Mandate
[edit]This article makes reference to "Nanyo", a mandated territory of the Empire of Japan. In 2015 the WP article about "Nanyo" was renamed "South Pacific Mandate". This was because 'the mandate was the Nanyō-chō', 'people do not call it "Nanyo" in English' and 'the mandate is more often referred to as the South Pacific Mandate in sources'. The change means that this article has been left with an incongruous title. There is also a risk of "Nanyo" being confused with the Japanese city Nan'yō. Would there be support for retitling this article as "Governor of the South Pacific Mandate"? Polly Tunnel (talk) 16:59, 10 June 2016 (UTC)
Done as no responses received. Polly Tunnel (talk) 13:03, 20 June 2016 (UTC)
- The article "South Pacific Mandate" has now been moved to "South Seas Mandate". For consistency I have moved this article from "Governor of the South Pacific Mandate" to "Governor of the South Seas Mandate". - Polly Tunnel (talk) 12:28, 18 February 2020 (UTC)
