Actually, I doubt, that the statement "Bergsträsser was an outspoken anti-Nazi, and helped to save German Jewish scholars." is true. Between February and August 1933 there was not much time. There is no evidence for this claim I know of. Or is there somebody out there who has any evidence? Or might it be possible, that Gotthelf Bergsträsser was just mistakten for the polititian Ludwig Bergsträsser? Or for his colleague Paul Kahle? - If nothing turns up we should delete the sentence.
