This is one of a series I'm doing on contemporary African writers, and I'd be thankful for all the help I can get. Diogenes Darwin (talk) 20:12, 25 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Trying it again

[edit]

I have re-uploaded a photo of Goretti for which I am the creator, and I have released it under an appropriate Creative Commons license. Whatever went wrong last time, I am hoping this time the photo is not "Nominated for speedy Deletion." Diogenes Darwin (talk) 03:37, 26 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

File:Gorettipic.jpg Nominated for speedy Deletion

Mistaken nomination

[edit]

NOTE: I have responded to call for deletion. I am the creator and copyright holder of the photo, and I have given Wikipedia permission to use it under the appropriate license. I do not understand this call for deletion. I have emailed permissions at Wikipedia in hopes of clarifying the matter. Please do NOT delete the photo. Doing so will just result in me re-uploading it. Thank you. Diogenes Darwin (talk) 03:30, 16 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

An image used in this article, File:Gorettipic.jpg, has been nominated for speedy deletion for the following reason: All Wikipedia files with unknown copyright status

What should I do?

Don't panic; you should have time to contest the deletion (although please review deletion guidelines before doing so). The best way to contest this form of deletion is by posting on the image talk page.

  • If the image is non-free then you may need to provide a fair use rationale
  • If the image isn't freely licensed and there is no fair use rationale, then it cannot be uploaded or used.
  • If the image has already been deleted you may want to try Deletion Review
